Creating Batches

Batches are collections of images from your indexes that are ready for annotation. They serve as the starting point for creating annotation jobs and organizing your workflow efficiently.

Creating a New Batch

To create a new batch:

  1. Navigate to your project’s Kanban board
  2. Click the Create Batch button in the Batches column
  3. Choose whether to ingest images or videos from an index
  4. Select an index containing the images you want to annotate
  5. Choose the number of images to include in your batch
  6. Click Create to create your batch

Once created, your batch will appear in the Batches column of the Kanban board. From here, you can:

  • View the batch details and included images
  • Split the batch into annotation jobs

Managing Batches

Batches serve as containers for your annotation jobs. A single batch can be split into multiple jobs, allowing you to:

  • Distribute work among different annotators
  • Set different priorities for different image sets
  • Track progress at both the batch and job level

Create smaller batches for more granular control over your annotation workflow, or larger batches when dealing with similar images that should be annotated together.

Next Steps

Once you’ve created a batch, the next step is to create annotation jobs from it. Jobs are where the actual annotation work happens, and they can be assigned to specific team members for completion.
