Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers cloud storage, we assume for you to stumble here you have GCP cloud Storage as your bucket for media files. If you are considering GCP as cloud storage, you create a Bucket in a project on GCP via the console.

Creating a Bucket.

To create a bucket, search and locate Cloud Storage. If you don’t have a project you will be prompted to create one. When you get to Cloud Storage Area you can create a bucket by clicking the create bucket button.

A Bucket example exists below, showing all the action buttons that can be clicked and used to get further information that is required for Ocular’s GCP integration.

Creating Access and Secret Key

We use Access Key and Secret Key which can be generated from GCP, to fetch the data from any bucket in the project. To do this in Cloud Storage, navigate to settings, and then interoperability, there you can create a Service Account if you have none or you can create Access keys for an already existing service account.

The Create A Key button once hit will create an Access Key and Secret Key, this will only be shown once as such do endeavour to copy the Access Key and Secret Key.

With the above, provided to Ocular GCP integration and the name of the bucket of interest Ocular will be able to fetch the contents of the Bucket to various depth levels of directories and subdirectories.
